Senior Mentors

Libby Lombard

Hi I'm Elizabeth Lombard but everyone calls me Libby. I have been a member of UConn ballroom since 1996 and have been on the board in various position. I was the competiton coordinator in 1997 and 98, and the social secretary in 1999. I think all of these positions no longer exist - but hey such is life. I am now employed as a registered nurse at St Francis hospital in Hartford and spend all of my time either at work or dancing. (At least it feels that way) When I can squeeze time away from ballroom I can be found reading a good book or watching anime with friends.

Junior Mentors

Lauren DellaFera

Lauren is currently a junior double majoring in Psychology and Human Development and Family Studies. This is her third year in ballroom dance, and second year on the board. She's proud to be a member of the ballroom family, and is really happy to see how much the team has grown in the time she's been been a part of it. When she's not dancing or slaving away to her textbooks, Lauren is usually making jewelry, watching the food network, or spending time with her family.

Courtney Delmonico

Courtney is a math major at the university and joined the ballroom team three years ago after meeting Lance at the engineering "Bridge" program. This wasn't her first experience with dance, however. She also studied ballet for twelve years.

Alex Kellogg

Alex is currently a senior at UConn majoring in Chemical Engineering, and minoring in Materials Engineering. He has been dancing on the team since his sophomore (05/06) year and before that did club in his freshmen year. As a junior (06/07) he held the board position of team trainer. He's a big music fan and one of the reasons he got into, and likes doing ballroom is that he's always wanted to be able to actually dance to music well. Also, before doing ballroom he had some experience with dance through his mom who is a Modern dance teacher at a ballet studio. He was roped into doing ballet partnering and really enjoyed it, and wanted to try to continue dancing with a partner in some fashion in college.

Adam Peacock

Adam has been the Webmaster for the UConn Ballroom Dance Club for the past two years, after deciding that the website needed a facelift. He enjoys being able to help the team out any way that he can, be it programming the website or helping out a newcomer.

Andrea Raynor

Andrea joined the UConn Ballroom team in the fall of 2005 as a freshman. She is majoring in Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies (that means old Greek and Roman stuff) with a minor in Women's Studies. She likes toe socks and fringe. Also cats. You can call her "Andy" or "Andrea," whichever you like. She never wears her glasses, so wave if you want her to recognize you from further than ten feet away!

Laura Rowley

Laura is a graduate student studying postsecondary services for students with disabilities in the School of Education. This is Laura's third year on the team and first year holding a board position. She ran to be the Club Director because club is where she first learned how to dance, and she would like to ensure that others have the same positive experience. Laura joined the dance team after seeing the movie, Shall We Dance. This semester, Laura also began as a junior mentor to the team.
