Kailee is a senior from Cheshire, Connecticut double majoring in History and Secondary Education. This is her third year on the board and second year as a mentor and she loves being able to give something back to the team. Besides dancing she loves singing to Broadway and Disney music (when no one’s listening of course), cooking, and playing with her two year old nephew!

Scott is a 7th semester Biology major and has been dancing since his first semester. His favorite dances are Quickstep and Paso, and is quickly learning to love Viennese Waltz. When not dancing, he is most likely playing World of Warcraft or procrastinating is some other fashion.

Deb is a sixth semester Communication Sciences major at UConn. This is her first year on the board but she has been a member of the UConn Ballroom Dance Team since her freshman year. She loves that being on the board will help her give back to the team. Her favorite styles are rhythm and latin. She is also a DJ with the UConn radio station 91.7 WHUS.

Christina is currently a junior majoring in Human Development & Family Studies with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. This is her first year on board, but her 3rd year dancing on the team. Although she has also danced for practically her whole life in proably every style you can think of before getting into ballroom here at UConn. She loves being part of the team and is excited to be on board so she can get more involved in what she loves and help out by giving back to team the best that she can!

Francisco Torres is second year History Major. He loves to dance and loves to be part of the UConn Ballroom Team and suggests it to all the future club members. He is primarily a latin dancer and is getting better at ballroom. Francisco loves club and is excited to put a new twist on club.

Adam has been on the dance team for the last five years and has been in charge of the website for the last four. He is currently studying Computer Science at Manchester Community College and enjoys being able to help out the team in any way possible – be it helping out a newcomer or working on the website.

Seana is currently a sophomore at UConn and is taking on a double major in Spanish and English. This is her first year as a member of the ballroom team, although she has done lots of dancing in the past. Mostly this prior dancing was in the form of ballet/tap/jazz/lyrical, and so she is still has much to learn about being a follower. Seana loves to dance (ballroom, ballet or otherwise) and also to bake, read, and practice speaking Spanish. She is very friendly, and very excited to be competition coordinator, and so if you have any brilliant ideas about how to make UConn's ballroom competition excellent, you should talk to her.

Rafael is a 3rd semester Economics and Political Science student. He has been on the UConn Ballroom team for 3 years now, having started dancing with the team in High School. He loves the Latin style of dancing. Other than dancing, Rafa is very interested in human rights work, reading, soccer, and World of Warcraft. He is very open to aiding team members get funding for competitions. He hopes to make the club sports experience a blast for all members of the team.

Dr. Gibson is a professor of Physics . He joined the Ballroom Dance Club
in 1999 and has been the faculty advisor since 2003. He also enjoys music
– he has played the piano for many years and teaches a course called “The
Physics of Musics”. He is always available to help with questions on
dancing and to address any concerns from club, team, or board members
about any issues that arise. He is continuously inspired by the energy
and dedication of the board and team in making this organization a great
success.
