End of the semester

We’d like to remind everyone that tonight is the last night of our dance club for the semester! We’d like to thank everyone for making this a very successful semester and hope to see everyone again next semester!

The team’s hash-out meeting is at 10:00 tonight after the lessons.
The last team practice is currently scheduled for this Sunday from 1 to 4 PM.

Dancing with the UConn Stars!

On Friday, October 23rd the Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts, in conjunction with UConn Ballroom will be hosting Dancing with the UConn Stars! Members of the UConn Ballroom Dance Team will be paired with some very special UConn celebrities, including President Mike Hogan. Come watch your friends dance their hearts out! You’ll be amazed by the talent of your friends, fellow students, faculty and staff!

When: Friday, October 23rd, 7:30 PM
Where: Jorgensen Main Stage
Cost: $3 for UConn students, $5 for all others

Welcome Back for Fall 2009!

The first day of club for the fall semester will be this coming Monday, September 14th at 7:00 PM in the Student Union Ballroom (330/331). If you are looking for more information about ballroom, come talk to us Wednesday, September 9th at the Involvement Fair. The fair is from 3:00 to 8:00 PM and we will have a table in the lobby. We’ll also be doing a brief demo at 6:15, so if you’d like to see what we do, please come check us out!

Also, team practices will be from 9 to 11 on Mondays this year, which is a half an hour longer than previous years. We also have space in Hawley on Thursdays from 9 to 11 PM for open practice, and Sundays from 1 to 4 PM. Check the website often for updates on practices/coaching.

Summer lessons

The team is currently running summer lessons. These lessons are not included in the cost of your team dues – standard lessons are $13, latin lessons are $18. The schedule is being posted to the team schedule section of the website as it is being determined. We are also having some open practices when we have space but no coaching in Hawley Armory.

End of the semester

We would like to thank everyone for making Spring 2009 a very successful semester for UConn Ballroom. As a reminder, we have finished all team and club activities for the semester. We will be resuming our club activities on September 14, 2009 for the Fall semester.

Current team members should watch their e-mail for the summer lesson plans. We will be sending out schedules/costs/etc shortly.
